COMING UP: Tabling with Hands Off NYC on Staten Island – Hands Off NYC will be tabling to bring people into the movement in an accessible way. Not everyone can come to a meeting or commit to a regular shift, but almost everyone can stop for a minute on the sidewalk. Every conversation is a chance to hand someone a tool, answer a question, or remind a neighbor they’re not on their own.

STARTS THIS WEEK – Immigrant Justice Summer Training Series – When ICE comes to your community, do you know what to do? This summer, Indivisible is giving you a blueprint.  Immigrant Justice Summer is a five-call national training series that will level up how you show up for immigrant justice. You’ll learn how to build up hyper-local networks and connect to experienced organizations to respond to ICE surges or new concentration camps in your area. With ICE buying up warehouses and anti-immigration agencies turbocharged by the GOP’s recent infusion of $70 billion into their coffers, we all need to be prepared.  By the end of the series, you’ll be equipped to mount a safe, immigrant-aligned response when there’s an emergency action needed in your community to protect your neighbors from Trump’s detention and deportation regime. No more Money for ICE – Sign an online letter to Congress that they must reject any funding to ICE and Border Control for Fiscal 2027. In June, Congress passed the S.2 reconciliation bill that provides ICE and Border Patrol another $70,000,000,000 (that’s 70 billion dollars). Now Congress is debating whether to give these same agencies an additional $30,000,000,000 through the Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations process. Read more / sign at https://tinyurl.com/5339yxzw.
